Our 7.5m Rib is a local girl – built just across the water in East Cowes by Island Ribs who focus on high-quality low-volume production. She delivers lively and nimble performance whilst also providing excellent space for general leisure use.
Durable, safe and easy to drive, our rib provides club members with easy days on the water. She’s ideal for popping over to Cowes or Yarmouth for lunch, spectating at an array of premium Solent regattas or just taking family and friends for a white knuckle ride!
Our Island Rib is part of our boat share fleet based in Hamble.
Her layout is a mix of versatile seating at the back with an accommodating and useful foredeck area for lounging and storage.
She offers four jockey seats, with two doubles aft behind the helm. Strong and sturdy, there are plenty of grab rails and support for crew during turns and over waves when seated.
The deep-vee hull excels in classic Solent chop, allowing her forefoot to cut through the waves with indifference. With a sharp hull, she leans hard into the turns with no stern slip.
Her Suzuki 200hp outboard packs plenty of punch underway and is very close to the maximum power rating advised for the Island 7.5m. In other words, she’s rapid!
She is coded to CAT3 (allowing passages of up to 20 miles from a safe haven) and carries a full inventory of safety equipment including lifejackets and harnesses.
Additional systems include: Raymarine chartplotter and instruments, plus fixed VHF radio.
