10 years of (boat) clubbing

As next week marks the 50th Southampton boat show I’m reminded that it was 10 years ago that I managed to get some late cancellation stand space, printed some banners and tried to sell the idea of sharing a fleet of boats!

From those beginnings, initially running just 3 yachts and a rib out of Hamble, Pure Latitude Boat Club now offers a wide range of popular sail and motor boats, available in 5 locations, including the Med.

The sharing economy has really come of age in that time, revolutionising access to all kinds of assets, from holiday accommodation to handbags, but nowhere is it clearer than in boats that sharing is the smart choice.  Each year we see new market developments and to my mind, we are close to a tipping point in boat sharing. As the market grows, Pure Latitude, as the established leader in the UK, is well placed to build on the success and innovation achieved over 10 short years of shared boating.

Whilst the Pure Latitude Boat Club model is unquestionably proven as the intelligent way to enjoy bareboating, it’s our ever expanding range of social, adventure, race and skill building events that are proving really popular. Events are ideal for the modern boater who is typically time poor, crew limited and seeking a simple, easy solution for getting afloat.

To understand how membership might fit your lifestyle and to hear about a great show offer, come and chat to myself and the PL team at the Southampton boat show (14-23rd September 2018) and learn how you can enjoy all the excitement of boat ownership with none of the responsibility.

See you on the water soon.
