Our points system has evolved continuously over the life of the business and is the engine that makes it all work, ensuring fair access and good availability of boats for all members.
The system is sophisticated and carries some complexity, but is entirely transparent. If you would like to understand exactly how our system works, all the details are available below.
The minimum points bundle is 500 points which typically equates to 15-20 days boating.
Use your points to book boats and events whenever you want, but how much boating you get will depend on the boats you sail and when you sail them – larger boats at peak times cost more than smaller boats off peak. Evening slots also consume less points than day slots.
The points cost of a booking depends on the type of boat and when you sail.
Our online portal manages everything and displays the rate at the time of booking, but please see below to understand the detail.
The table shows the rates for different boats, based on a Friday day sail in mid season, which is representative of an average rate for each boat.

Our booking system clearly shows the points cost of any booking, plus we have outlined the relative boat point rates for different times of day, days of week and seasons below.
Time of day
We split each 24-hour period into two slots:
• Day slot: 8am to 6pm
• Evening slot: 6pm to 8am
If you book both slots together it costs 20% more than just the day.
If you only book the evening/night slot, it costs 60% of a full day booking.
Day of week
Fridays are 20% more than Monday-Thursday. Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays are 25% more than the Friday rate.
Seasons
We divide the year into three seasons:
• High season (July & August): 33% more points than mid season
• Mid Season (April-June & September-October): Standard rate.
• Low Season (November-March): 33% less than mid season.
A key feature of any shared use scheme is the ability to get a boat at times that suit you. Our model uniquely provides flexibility for our members to go boating when they want over the year, with no requirement to go boating in specific weeks or seasons.
Most of the year our model provides excellent availability but, as you might expect, July and August require a little extra management whilst the off-season months benefit from additional encouragement.
We know from experience that the simplest and fairest way to manage seasonal demand is to apply seasonal pricing. In addition, we also operate a “fair use” policy that limits member spend to no more than half of their points in July and August.
We operate a day slot (08.00 – 18.00) and an evening/night slot (18.00 – 08.00). You can book any number of consecutive slots (max 15) so overnight stays and multi day trips are a popular choice with our members.
If you have an active Pure Latitude membership, you can take as long as you like to use your points.
You are welcome to purchase a new points bundle at any time so that you can keep sailing as much as you wish.
Your monthly membership plan provides access to your choice of boats and covers all the essentials, including: fully equipped and maintained boats, home berthing, insurance, plus access to our support, training and event programmes.
To make membership fair for everyone, some additional usage charges also apply based on engine hours and accessories taken.
Our 3 monthly membership plans are listed at the top of this page.

SELECTING YOUR BOATS
Once you have signed up, you can select your boats whenever you are ready, preferably within the first 90 days of membership.
You may know from the outset which boats you want to choose, but often members like to see how their preferences evolve after choosing a couple of boats to get started.
If you want to change your choice of boats, you can only do so if you switch membership levels during the year or when you buy a new points bundle.
If you don’t want to skipper your own boat but would like to take part in our events and sail with other members, take a look at our crew membership plans.
