Kit List

Please ensure you have appropriate outdoor clothing to comfortably spend the day outside – come rain or shine!

A limited amount of foul weather gear (jackets and trousers – not boots), can be hired at a cost of £12 per day. Please call the office in advance to discuss your requirements and book.

Please pack your gear in a bag that can be stowed easily on the boat.

1. Day sailing

Waterproof jacket & trousers* and quick drying clothes which can be layered
Warm clothing – fleece, thermal base layers
Sailing boots or waterproof boots with non-marking soles
Deck shoes or non-marking trainers for warmer weather
Hat (sun or warm or both) scarf or buff if cold
Sailing gloves
Sunglasses and retainer
Suncream and lip salve
Note pad, pencils and any navigation books you might need
Phone charger
Towels – wash towel and tea towel
Food and drink
Face mask

 

2. Cruises & Mile Builders

We recommend the following items in addition to your normal clothing required when you go ashore:

Waterproof jacket & trousers* and quick drying clothes which can be layered
Warm clothing – fleece, thermal base layers
Bedding – sleeping bag and small pillow (if staying onboard)
Sailing boots or waterproof boots with non-marking soles
Deck shoes or non-marking trainers for warmer weather
Hat (sun or warm or both) scarf or buff if cold
Sailing gloves
Sunglasses and retainer
Suncream and lip salve
Head torch with a red-light option
Pocket torch
Sailing knife or multitool
Thermal underwear if cold weather or night sailing
Note pad, pencils and any navigation books you might need
Phone charger
Wash kit and towels – wash towel and tea towel
Passport and euros for cross channel passages
Ear plugs
Face mask

 

3. Racing

Please remember that we are racing so kit on board must be kept to an absolute minimum. Anything not being used while sailing should be left in your car or elsewhere as directed by the skipper when away from base.
