Overnighting in Bembridge marina, this two-day cruising block is not just about the sailing as it also offers a chance to explore the beautiful harbour of Bembridge and surrounds.

We’ll depart Hamble early on Saturday morning to ensure we catch the flood East and enter Bembridge just after HW at 1pm. Saturday afternoon will give you the opportunity to explore the local area. We plan to depart Bembridge just after 12pm on Sunday and catch the ebb tide West back to Hamble.

• Stroll from the marina across the Duver and around to Priory Bay and Seaview – best done around LW 6PM on Saturday (or Sunday morning). The Fort on the quay in Seaview is a great waterside pub.

• Grab a bite to eat at the Best Dressed Crab barge in Bembridge harbour.

• Take the water taxi across the harbour and stroll down to Bembridge’s iconic RNLI station.

• Enjoy a drink at Bembridge or Brading Haven yacht clubs (both welcome visiting sailors).

• For the bird watchers, wander up to Brading marshes – home to the first RSPB site on the Island.

• Hire a PL paddleboard to explore the bustling harbour.
