If you’re searching for a simple but spectacular summer getaway, one with bright blue waters and white sands, with pretty buildings and cobbled streets, with genuinely tasty, unpretentious cuisine, then we have the one for you.
After a summer full of club racing events, Pure Latitude are heading to Sardinia for a relaxing week of sailing around the beautiful Maddalena Islands. A cluster of seven tiny islands dotted across the rugged north coast of Sardinia boast magnificent harbours, flawless beaches and untouched sandy coves for you to explore. Often deserted, the turqoise lagoons are an alluring paradise for scuba divers, swimmers, and anyone in search of pure bliss. Soaking up the Sardinian sun whilst discovering the extraordinary beauty each little island has to offer, life at home will feel worlds away.
Whether cruising the clear waters or sightseeing ashore, Sardinia’s charm won’t fade and you certainly won’t be short of things to do. Colourful, quaint and charismatic, the sophisticated town of La Maddalena is buzzing with bars and bookshops, cinemas, shops and restaurants. If you want a more tranquil vibe, venture out to quiet corners where you can marvel at ancient ruins and absorb the island’s long and interesting history. Back on the mainland, you can visit Cannigione – originally a fishing village, with effortlessly picturesque surroundings and a calm, laidback atmosphere. Home to one of the most visited beaches of the Costa Smeralda featuring a long stretch of golden sand and crystal clear waters, it’s no wonder that this village is one of the most popular tourist spots on the entire island of Sardinia.
The Maddalena Islands and its surroundings truly are one of the Mediterranean’s hidden gems, with unrivalled views that make it feel more like the Caribbean. Understated but by no means underwhelming, this is definitely a destination to tick off the summer holiday bucket list, and what better way to explore such a beautiful place than in a beautiful sailing yacht?
