Our unique points system provides really flexible boating. Training membership plans are allocated points and you spend the points on boats, instructors and events. Bigger boats use more points, as do weekend days and bank holidays. The boats you use and the volume of training required determine how many points you need.

Our two example training plans work well for most training members but we can also offer bespoke options for those looking to formalise previous experience or anyone who wants something just a bit different.

Frequently asked questions

Can I customize my plan to fit me?

Absolutely. Our two example training plans work well for most PL members but we also offer bespoke options for anyone who wants something just a bit different. Get in touch for a bespoke proposal.

Can I use my full annual allocation of points to complete my training and go boating in a single month?

No. A key facet of any shared use scheme is the ability to get boat at times that suit you – thus we carefully manage supply and demand to ensure good availability for all. Our seasonal booking calendar is an important tool in achieving this. Annual fleet membership points are allocated equally across three seasons (4 month blocks: High = May-August, Mid = Mar-Apr & Sep-Oct and Low = Nov-Feb) and they need to be used in the season to which they are allocated.

How do I pay for the training?

It’s all included in the plan and you pay with your membership points - both for the boat and the instructor. Instructors are charged at 24 low season points per day (training members only).

Can I use the club rib?

Yes. All training members enjoy access to the club rib with no booking charge - you just pay for fuel. The number of sessions you can book depends on your membership level - contact us for details.

Is there a joining fee?

Yes, £495 one-off club joining fee applies to all new members and anyone rejoining after a break in membership.

Can I save money by paying annually?

Annual payment in advance brings a 5% discount and commitment for two years saves a further 5%.

Can I share my membership with a friend?

Yes, we offer joint memberships at the extra cost of £50/month for each additional member that has independent booking access to the account. Get in touch to find out more and discuss whether this is applicable to your situation.

Are there any extra costs?

We provide fuel on the sailing boats (fair usage policy) but understandably we do charge for fuel on the motorboats, plus an hourly engine maintenance charge. For typical motorboat usage expect to pay circa £75 per day per engine for fuel and engine charge.

Skippers/ instructors can be hired for bespoke tuition at the rate of £240 per day.

Cleaning and Catering are also available at additional charge.

Am I insured?

Yes, all boats are insured for accidental damage. Members are liable for repair costs up to a maximum of £1500 (under 40ft) / £2,500 (over 40ft).
