With a strong focus on night navigation and pilotage\, you’ll gain the confidence to run safe\, structured passages\, with training on the first day running into the evening and typically finishing around 2200. \nYou’ll also explore rough‑weather handling techniques\, learning how to manage engine trim and speed to maintain control and comfort when conditions deteriorate. DESCRIPTION:If you’re serious about developing your skippering skills\, then the 5-day RYA coastal skipper practical course covers advanced skippering techniques – ideal if you already have a strong sailing and navigational skill base (YM theory) and now want to undertake coastal passages by day and night. \nYou’ll skipper suitably demanding passages and learn more about pilotage by day and night\, boat handling\, passage planning\, safety and emergency situations. It’s an intensive week – be prepared for some hard work.
